Poetry
There is encouragement when we see the many,
That come to praise what the Lord has done;
When we see such blessings from those free;
The numerous souls that He has won.
We sing His praise, with those of same hope,
Those many who trust in the same God;
It is He, for which we all grope,
And it is He, for Whom we all laud.
Then we might hear from the pulpit of truth
Affirming what He shows each one of us;
The pastor speaking what the Spirit has proved,
Encouraging us to continue His trust.
We are reminded that we're not alone,
That we all share in similar plights;
For this is what our High Priest atoned,
To see us beyond our darkest of nights.
It is with others of common faith,
As we relate to them, that we must grow;
Relating to them, the hardest race;
The best of which, the love we must show.
Is it possible, with all you've been through,
That you have something meant for the fold;
That your perspective upholds what is true;
That you would refresh with new things from old?
Whether new in the faith, or an elder of the flock,
I, for one, say it is you that I need;
For we have this in common, the uncommon Rock,
In spite of your age, your love I must heed.
