Like the quote from the Melville classic,
My faith, too, lives quite drastic;
For doubt is the enemy of this divine gift,
And seeks to bring back an ominous rift.

Yet this gift graciously giv'n me,
Is that great weapon to keep me free;
For I have been borne from above,
Set free from my own sin, by Jesus' love.
He sets me loose, to be as He planned,
With His great Father, I'm in their hand;
He is not One, to leave me forsaken,
He arms me with faith, against hell's kraken,
Along with Truth, and glorious salvation,
His righteousness, and peace which I stand in.

So I am armed against daunting doubt,
Until He calls me, with a shout;
And yes it is true, for this I'm no doubter,
Doubt has become my faith's fodder.



Author's Note: The quote I am referring to here is from H. Melville's book "Moby Dick." It reads:

"But Faith, like a jackel, feeds among the tombs, and even from these dead doubts she gathers her most vital hope."
