Watch with Me
Without private perspective;
In your Gethsemane,
My loving directive;
You’ll first not see
The meaning of this;
But identify with Me;
True Christ-like bliss.

At first it seems
So very painful;
The darkest of dreams;
Incomprehensible;
Many won’t know
Why you are suffering;
Just watch with Me,
As a loving offering.

Peter, James and John
Slept through great dread;
And in their waking,
Forsook Me and fled;
Without the Spirit,
They could not see
This was My heart;
Was simply Me.

So don’t refuse Me
Because of the pain;
Just look to Me;
Make Me your aim;
So, I invite you
With joyful plea;
Learn how I can
Be your identity.

For you are on
This side of the cross;
Through My love,
You’ll not be lost;
Watch with Me, sweet,
With expectancy;
I am forming you,
To be just like Me.
