This covering can be there in the roughest storms
it doesn't matter if their old or new
From the break of day or going down of the sun
his word still is faithful and true

There is not one hour that it won't intervene
in any moment it can make it's round
Even through the night it can shine it's light
O' his righteousness it is, thee crown

It can be to us a coat with colorful fruits
that we wear to express his love
And our steps can be laced with his saving grace
that he sends from heaven above

Through every dark cloud it can make it's way
to rain down joy to fill us within
His peace is like a robe that we don for confort
each time he lets his word descend

O' the righteousness of God is pure and white
I'd work for us in any kind of test
He'll supply the strength to endure each one
O' he did dress us with the best

This cloak comes covered with many good things
that the soul can have inside
One is to protect it while we're in the storm
providing a place for us to hide

It will even work to help us to keep from evil
whenever it tries to overtake us
Then he'll send his word to shield what is good
for on it we can rely and trust

Now this cloak of righteousness we well do know
that it will need some suffering too
For it helps to put in, what God has intended
to make what, he does, shine through

Lord keep supplying us with true righteousness
let it blanket us through and through
For anything else than that, it will be unfruitful
but we can always count on you
