A reader wrote in response to a SatCompStuff and thanked me
for being a "fountain of knowledge." I wrote back and thanked
her but had to explain that I'm not a fountain of knowledge -- just
a watering can -- some would say "a drip."

Others write and apologize for taking my time by writing to me,
but I'm always glad to receive mail from readers and look forward
to them. That's the only way I have of knowing whether you are
for me or agin me. Truth is, I probably only normally hear from 2
to 3% of my 1600 subscribers. However, that is sort of considered
a national average on responses to ad campaigns.

I hope God regularly hears from more than 2-3% of professing
believers, but that, too, may be a possibility -- there is no way of
knowing. I'm sure He gets lots of "gimme this or that" or "bless
me 'n mine" but gets too little of genuine gratitude for answered
prayers or even the necessities of life that we take for granted.

Psalm 136:1 (nlt) says, "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!
His faithful love endures forever." That same thought is
expressed over and over by the Psalmist. He knew how to give
thanks to God. We should take lessons!
