A rumor is about as hard to unspread as butter.

Most churches offer a mid-week evening Bible Study in addition
to the one in Sunday School. Have you noticed that those who
never attend and take advantage of either one are the ones who
have the gall to assume they have the expertise to reinterpret the
Scriptures according to their whims.

Since God knows the end from the beginning, wouldn't you
assume that when He directed the writing of the Bible He would
have taken into account that His choice of words would be valid
for all time? Why then do some folks think they are wise enough
to over-rule God?

A linguist at an established and respected seminary once said,
"No man living knows enough to question one word in the
Bible." I fully understand that there are some parts of His Word
that convict us, and we wish those parts weren't there, but they
are and we can't change that.

In a shaky world that gets shakier by the moment, the one thing
that remains timesless and sure is God's Word -- bank on it. If
your world is crumbling around you, His Word is there as an
anchor for your soul so you you can find your security in it.

There is a Christian barometer in 1 John 2:5 (nlt), "But those who
obey God's word really do love Him. That is the way to know
whether or not we live in Him." That's for sure!
