I know I can enjoy good things here and now
if I don't allow it to empty my cup
So by having a saved life, makes it much better
for with God I'd keep filling up

So there hangs a picture of Jesus my Savior
right on the walls of my heart
That I can look up to when the days are blue
I'd keep me fighting so he won't depart

Out of this life of mine each day and night
he'll be with me wherever I go
On hills and mountains, deep rivers or valley's
and even through the sleet and snow

Whenever I find myself getting a bit lonely
I'll reach up and take his hand
And let him comfort me as we walk side by side
giving strength so I can stand

Against all the heartaches that's in this life
as it does present itself at times
But when I behold his face smiling down on me
giving assurance that he is mine

That's why I do need him on this journey of life
sure need his presence to clear the way
And his picture in my heart will remind me that
he'll guide me on each new day

Then too he will overshadow me with his mercy
rain down his grace upon my frame
And his love will spread wide, all around me
all of this, because of his name

When the morning comes he wakes me out of sleep
my cup of coffee, I'll let him fill
For he'll sweeten it to the taste for the journey
and I shouldn't let any of it spill

So now when day is near to be over
and the sun is going down
I'll thank God for each passing moment
that he allow to come around

Just know on this road we will have our days
a few dregs will try to land in our cup
But with Jesus in our heart that picture of hope
that will keep us from giving up
