Lord you be the driver of this spiritual car
I'd stay on the passengers side
For you know the way that I should go
so let my heart accept the ride

For you alone see what's on this road
and do know every crack and hole
Lord keep this car on the right track
please watch out for my soul

No off side roads will the Lord take me
and not a quick route will he go
But, will take me to that perfect place
for the answer when I don't know

Now I can get out and go on my own
but will only suffer defeat
So it's better to stay with God's plan
though it will bring some heat

He knows every sign that lies ahead
for he has been there before
He was the beginning and know the ending
because he is that door

He won't put on us anything that is not his
only smooth paths will he give
Although some times, it may seem rough
but at least our soul will live

The Lord did master the driving test
and he did finish the course
So why should I accept any other route
when he gave me his endorse

I can't accept any ride that comes along
got to stay with God all the way
Pray I will not fail but, pass each test
if I rely on what he did say

Not one detour will I seek or settle for
for God has a purpose for me
And in knowing this I won't go wrong
and in due time I will see

Be silent O' rider don't go before the driver
keep that heart open to his will
And if the trip seems long, just go along
for he has already paid the bill
