O' House it is time to pack up your tears
and give God the key to your heart
It has been too long for being locked away
let him give you a another new start

Go in every room where each tear had fell
bag them up and open the door
So he can come in and sweep the slate clean
so you won't see them anymore

Take those soak pillows and throw them out
and then go and buy new ones
You don't want to keep any lasting stains
but, say that's over and done

Load those memories in a suitcase and bury them
don't dig them up all over again
Let them stay there, you just end the affair
and a new life let it now begin

The floors you did walk you need to do no more
let your walls be colors of white
Or whatever you choose, you will not lose
for God will be your light

Those pulled down shades you can lift them up
no more of you hiding your tears
For the day has sprung forth in your house
and did wipe out your bad years

Go by and check every closet that you have
take what's in there and burn it up
Don't leave one trace of what did hang there
because it's nothing but a bitter cup

O' House you can have better sidings
that can shine on the outside
Becasue the joy God gives will make it so
and this where he will abide

No more old stuff will you have to keep
for all things will know be new
And each night and day, whatever comes you way
your tears will now become few

God is the builder of life's little breakdowns
he is the restorer of a broken heart
He is a peace maker when storms are raging
yes, his comfort he will impart

O' House of tears you don't have to fear
your Savior has paid the bill
So just go on and live and enjoy your life
for you are in his will

In this new house there's a secret closet
that you do have alone
And you can run to it in whatever the hour
for God gave it for you to own
