If we knew which way the winds would blow
then we would run for cover
For no one knows what will come with it
this my heart it did discover

One minute the sky is peaceful and calm
then the next it's dark as night
Not even a warning came before it hit
as it covers every inch of light

so be the tests that comes in our lives
we don't know what lies before
It's no giving reason why things do happen
and is there still any more

But we can thank God for his covering
that does keep us through it all
No matter what comes up to over-turn our cup
he will not let us fall

For he is the one that can still the winds
with just a stay of his hands
And it has to obey when he speaks and say
that they are under his command

Now just because we have a few troubles
and may have a few days of rain
But our very hope is built on a solid rock
that makes it possible for us to gain
