As I was pulling up to the gas station pumps
all at once my mind it flew away
When I glanced at the numbers on the sign post
It almost did flip me out, in what it did say
As the car slowly begin to swallow the gas
it was as like they became as one
But into the heat I did go and I did know
that the gas knew that it had won
But, just another day of life's little sport
as the tank did gulp it up, on each run
but a little smile, did come through
as the hand was moving, I just enjoyed the sun
But it was like the car was having a laughing spree
if saying, how much gas did you put in me
Did you put enough in there to go that extra mile
well, very soon we both will see
It really doesn't matter what pump you use
be it number one, two or three
It's the price that speaks, how much you get
nothing in this life comes cheap or free
So I try not to look at the numbers anymore
but, just go on and put the gas in
And the thought talks, with my tank is over
I'll just ride it out until it says when
Now there will be a many stops on Life's runs
and will be those prices, high and low
But right now it seems they are rising again
oh in this life we just don't know
But still in all we can find some humor
to help us on our way
And thank God above for showering down his love
on each and every day
