Written 8-1-05

The machine of God is so vast,
It can easily function without me;
For I am so small,
I’m almost nothing.

He doesn’t need my love.

Yet, the Lord wants,
Not needs,
My participation.

My nothingness is a gift to me,
I don’t have to be perfect
To be a part of His plan,
Since nothing can’t be perfect.

The One who is my need,
Has no need of me;
Yet, I breathe;
I do so, to His delight.

I’m a tear in the sea that is Him,
Lost to Him alone;
Hidden in Him, in protection.
I’m a fading light,
Hidden in the heavens;
Unaffected, and unaffecting,
I live, I move, I have my being.

And He gives me more,
Just as He gave me His Son;
I can be something,
Simply by being nothing.

An elaboration of the things the Lord is showing me; or re-showing me. Somehow this gives me comfort; contentment.
