for we who fall...)

I have raged,
Against the Truth;
Feeling my wretchedness,
Bearing witness to reality,
My pathetic stance,
Before You alone.

I have seen,
Even tasted Your beauty;
Then I've walked,
In my foolishness;

I'm Solomon backsliding,
And Samson rebelling;
Jonah running;
And David lusting;
I'm Thomas doubting;
And Peter denying.

Deal with me,
As I need from You;
Be faithful to Your Word,
Held above Your holy Name.
May I receive chastening,
To bear holy fruit.

I need You,
And all You have for me;
Grant me a heart,
Above reproach;
To walk in integrity,
Blameless before You.

I've been a fool,
In the truest sense;
Knowing the Way,
And not walking in Him;
The reason of trusting You,
And not living it out.

Yet You will not judge,
As I deserve;
Even my death,
Will not be my end.
