All my life before me,
Held to one choice:
Choose light affliction,
With eternal joy;
Or sin's seasonal pleasure,
And to reap death and corruption.
To go back to the past,
Knowing it's eventual death;
Or choose life with peace,
And potential joyful change.

My way leads to end and ruin,
Your way leads to character,
To freedom...

Throw me away, Lord!
Choose Your Son's heart!
Take my life to Yourself,
Even if Your bosom holds death...

...and loneliness.

Your love lets me choose,
Your truth does free me;
Your mercy binds me,
To Your gracious post.
Forever Yours, may I be.
Even if You draw blood
to cast me off.
Though Your sword may pierce me,
with eternal forsaking.

The old will destroy me,
But in the new I can only die.
