Those who write advertising copy make some wonderfully funny
choices when it comes to stringing words together, like this: "Auto
Repair Service. Try us once and you'll never go anywhere else
again" or "Dog For Sale. Eats anything and is fond of children."

While our wives were shopping, my friend and I (he also had a
stroke) sat on a bench in the mall. As we were watching people
stroll by, he said, "When you watch them walk, it looks so easy."
About then a man came by in a wheelchair and he had one leg
totally gone. I said, "All of a sudden my left leg isn't so tired after
all."

There is always someone who has more problems than we do, and
we need to meet them to be humbled and quit our grumbling.
Maybe you never grumble -- that would be nice. But think about it
-- what does grumbling accomplish? All it does is fuel our
negative thoughts, and who needs that?

Psalm 55:17 (nrsv) gives a good indication of the tremendous
long-suffering of our God" "Evening and morning and at noon, I
will complain and murmur, and He will hear my voice." None of
us likes to listen to a complainer. God probably doesn't either, but
He does. What a God!
