When you make that call to heaven
the connection won't be lost
It will go right through the misty blue
and don't worry about the cost

For the price it has already been paid
by a loving Savior who died for us
And whenever we need a word from him
all we have to do is trust

There on one end the prayer was ringing
high up in the clouds above
Making our request for his ears to hear
oh how precious is sound of love

Not one dial tone will we ever need
no call-waiting on this line
No signals to get through, it's been viewed
and the answer will be on time

For with just a touch the call was heard
and our faith it did open the way
So the need will be filled through and through
and it can come on whatever the day

Now the attentive ears must wait to hear
for the receiver to pick up the call
It can't be any doubt, for it's on it's route
and in his hands the prayer will fall

What comfort to know God is never busy
no book schedules will he keep
For his line is open around the clock
and you'll never find him sleep

You see the call to heaven is a heart thing
that we can present, at any time
Be it day or night, know that it's all right
for we're always on his mind

Now before we hang up the job was done
and the connection will be free
And we can always use it time after time
this promise was to you and me
