I knealt by the grave of my loved one,
remembering the one I had held so dear.
Though apart for now, I knew his soul lived on.
Just an empty clay shell was sleeping here.

Sometimes faith just isn't enough,
especially when you lose someone you love.
Empty days and nights are pretty tough,
and I needed an extra hug from above.

Like a small child, approaching her Dad;
with tears streaming, and arms opened wide;
I told Him, without you, my life was pretty sad;
and in Him, I just wanted to hide.

He didn't chide me because I felt so weak.
He just drew me closer to His side.
A drop of rain fell down on my cheek,
as my Heavenly Daddy also cried.
