It's a fact that Satan wanted to kill Him.
To this world, His death was no great loss.
Jesus, in love, came to save and forgive them.
He could have, but would not lay down the cross.

Though He knew man's heart leaned toward evil,
He carried the cross for them just the same.
The very Heart of God, He was born to reveal.
The Truth, The Way and the Life, He became.

On the cross, He prayed, "Father, forgive them."
He wept that souls might be counted lost.
Jesus didn't come to this world to condemn.
No, for this world, He became sin's final cost.

It's a fact, the world doesn't love you either.
Evil will always shy away from the Lord's light.
You might just be picked on as a true believer.
The world walks in darkness, stumbling in night.

Yes, there may be a cross for you to bear,
as the darts of Hell at you, Satan will toss.
Remember, you are in the Lord's care.
Nights almost over, so don't lay down the cross.
