Holy Fire, burn; explode in my bones!
Singe evils within me your blood did atone

Burn up my defenses, and wicked pride too
Consume with your fire all that displeases you

Let your smoke billows protect me from shame
Set my tongue upon fire as I shout out your name

My conceit turn to ashes, my will into soot
Burn the seeds of temptation before they take root

Set your holy flames on me, as burning I run
To spread forth your fire and engulf everyone

Place within me no embers, only flames burning bright
Pour fire into me, Lord, my spirit ignite
