Through much prayer and supplications
I let all my requests be known
To ask for God's help in every way
so I won't be over-thrown
I do seek, for the right directions
so not, to be captured in any snares
And my heart is satisfied in what he choose's
for it's his way of showing me he cares
My soul cries out for his wisdom
so I may judge what's true and fair
That's why I need his spirit to dwell in me
to go with me, every where
I realize that it does take some patience
to deal with many opposing feats
Plus a lots of love to withstand evil forces
and to me, this is a special treat
For my human side, sometimes will fail
I have to keep going back, for a re-fill
and whisper here I am Lord, pour in some more
It won't hurt, if a little over- spill
For when my cup is running over,
that's because more is still coming in
and I really do need the good things he offers
with a prayer, to keep it, sealed within
So with a child like spirit, I humbly call
for him when times are rough
So his joy, will sprinkle down on me
to off-set those things that's tough
I want to learn to put my thoughts on hold
and allow meekness to take the upper-hand
for this is one of the fruits of the spirit
and I will try to get as much as I can
I ask to pour in me some kindness too
add a lot of tenderness along with it
For I know I will need very bit of his goodness
in order for his love light to stay lit
I much rather be empty so he can fill me
than have fills of hate, malice and strife
For he gives to me peace, love and joy
that makes me want to enjoy this life
I desire the strength of the wings of an eagle
so when I'm faint, they will bear me up
But when I seek his face his arms are like such
and he will fill this tea cup
