In the Northeastern United States, "yous" is frequently but incor-
rectly used as the plural of "you." In PA Dutch country I have also
heard "you'ns." "You" is both singular and plural, and that makes
you a complicated personality. But it makes sense, because you are
a dual person -- secular and spiritual, and you need to take good
care of both of "yous."(sic)

This is a quiz, and I'd like you to think carefully about each
question and not answer glibly or too quickly. "Why did you
become a Christian?" Was it:
a) Conviction of sin
b) Because my parents were Christians
c) I want to go to Heaven
d) I want to be a better human being
e) I wanted to have the same faith that someone else had
f) I liked the fellowship at church
g) The music at church attracted me to Christ
h) I was afraid of possibly going to Hell
i) To satisfy a spouse or boy/girl friend
j) I hoped it would solve my problems
k) None of the above

So, honestly, why did you become a Christian -- think about it?
Then, what has Christianity done for you -- how has it made your
life more meaningful? To paraphrase President Kennedy, "It's not
what God has done for you, but what have you done for God."
That isn't entirely valid because our salvation is all about what God
has done for us, but being practical about it, what have you done
since becoming a Christian to validate your belief? Has it changed
your life? Are you more pleasant to live with. Do you have more
compassion for others? Really, what has it done for you? How has
it made you a better person.?

2 Cor. 5:17 (nlt) expresses it well: "...Those who become
Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore,
for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" Is that true of us?
It's time to be honest.
