John Wilmot says, "Before I got married, I had six theories about
bringing up children. Now I have six children and no theories."

It seems at times that incompetence is rampant. We had a
horrendous experience with a major overnite shipper that is too
lengthy to relate here. It was a perfect example of gross
incompetence that took four phone calls and bushels of irritation
and insistance to get action. I finally told the last person that the
only thing I would ship with them was my worst enemy because
there was a good chance they would lose him. The incompetance
and lack of concern was unbelievable. In case you wonder who it
was, I'll just say that it wasn't UPS.

I've run into the same thing with ISP's and online shopping, except
for BestBuy -- I've had excellent experiences with them. You start
wondering if there is anyone left who believes that the best ability
is dependability.

If you are a Christian, you can be a shimmering light in a dark
world by being dependable, because you'll stand out like a Rush
Limbaugh tie. You can show those outside of Christ that being a
Christian makes a remarkable difference in all areas of life.

Matt. 5:16 (niv) gives this good advice, "...let your light shine
before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in Heaven." People do notice, so let's be beacons of light in
a grim world.
