A pastor joined a local service club like Kiwanis or Rotary. Upon
induction, to have a little fun, on his badge they listed his
occupation as "Hog Caller." In retort, he said, "I'm usually called
shepherd of the flock, but I guess you know your members better
than I do."

Christians get called all sorts of things by those who don't under-
stand Christianity -- names like fundies, holy rollers, holier-than-
thou, do-gooders, Jesus freaks, etc. But by God we are called: His
children, His very own, chosen ones, and many other wonderful
titles as recorded in Scripture. He even knows us by name,
including our problems and woes -- little old bald-headed me -- He
knows me -- WOW! He knows you and what you may be going
through at this very moment.

When the light at the end of your tunnel looks pretty dim, remind
yourself that the mighty God who created the universe knows you
by name and cares about you. Matt. 6:30 (nlt), "And if God cares
so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow,
won't He more surely care for you? You have so little faith."
Learn to trust Him -- really trust Him!
