I often find myself drawn to the beautiful, fragrant garden. The lush vegetation is growing in brilliant colors and perfect landscaping order. I enter the little gate that creaks from the rusty hinges as I notice the smell of roses permeating the entire area. The dew has awoken the glistening flowers that open their petals in praise to the Father above. I search for Him, longing to spend time basking in His Presence lifting praise and adoration as He is the only One worthy of such glory. I follow the path to the center of the garden where I find Him feeding the tiny sparrows. The birds sing a melodious carol as they too are blessed to be before Him. He sees me coming and runs to greet me with His arms open wide. I do not deserve to be in such a holy presence, yet I am welcomed by Him. The light that shone all about Him reveals all of the hidden dirt and grime upon me. He washes it clean and does not condemn me or pass judgement. He offers only love and total acceptance as I am His beloved, although I can barely comprehend the concept. I sit at His feet and observe, listening and hanging on every Word. He speaks Truth and Life to all who will have an ear to listen. What wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him will He impart today? Will I be able to apply the lesson with understanding in my limited capacity? I open my heart to all that He has to offer and enjoy basking in His presence. I want to stay before Him forever and not move unless He moves me. He lightens my load, taking all of my burdens and releasing me from the bondage of worry and fear. His perfect love casts these things away. I am persuaded that He is able to keep all that I have entrusted to Him. I resist my tendency to go back and pick up the chains that I have become so accustomed to carrying. He is My God and I was born to worship Him. He will keep my feet from stumbling and keep me to the path which He has set before me. I am learning to be comfortable and welcome the quiet stillness, listening. I am learning to hush the noises of “life” to truly learn how to live and thrive in Him. In my time with Him, He restores my soul and renews my mind. His sustains me through the present trials and promises hope for the days to come. I am watching and waiting for my Blessed Redeemer. Until next time in the garden . . .
