Have you ever noticed that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets
mad at you, but if you take him for a ride in a car, he'll stick his
head out of the window?

As I write this, we just got back from a luncheon visit with near
life-long friends, and we met new friends of whom Betty has
known since college days. Needless to say, we reminisced
endlessly and had a delightful time.

Reminiscing is good for the soul -- it reminds us of how good God
has been to us, and we need that because it is so easy to focus on
tomorrow's problems and forget about God's past blessings. You'll
remember that ancient Israel was very good at forgetting. We
should learn from their errors in this regard.

Psalm 102:3 says it well, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget
not all His benefits." Yes, never forget the past faithfulness of God
and be assured that this same faithful God will go with you in your
future steps. "Forget not" -- that's great advice, and remembering
will give you confidence to face even what may be a disturbing
future for you.
