BE A CHEERLEADER

Make sure that today you take time to spread a little love, kindness and care to everyone you meet. It isn't easy, it takes thought and action. Sometimes you forget and instead of going back to say what you thought of, you retreat and walk away. If there is any question and your heart is tugging you on, go back and give them a hug, a kind word and make their day special!

You are special, wonderful and YOU as God created you to be. Don't ever stop believing that! No matter how low your self-esteem may be, there are always many cheerleaders in your corner! In fact, you can designate yourself as a cheerleader to someone you know that needs encouragement.

Perhaps you have someone who has a need and it is ongoing, such as an illness. You can appoint yourself to help them by visiting, lending an ear, taking a small gift or flowers and just about anything you can think of but the most important thing they will remember when you leave, is that you took TIME to be there.Listen and be a cheerleader!

I think we all can say that time is short each day. We don't get much accomplished before bed time each night unless we put forth effort and don't end up being couch potatoes. When we have a productive day, it is much better and rewarding than hanging around. If we include someone else in it and decide to be a blessing to them, it is even better because we are giving of ourself, our time and our love.

A sports related team may have cheerleaders that make alot of noise and jump around, but you only have to listen and take time to be there! It is a sacrifice of yourself and energy is expelled when the goal is to make someone else happy. So considering the sacrifice, isn't it better to be a listening cheerleader rather than one who is noisy???!

We need to cheer on those who are down-trodden, unhappy or sad. We may even cry and laugh with them but our hearts will be lighter and our spirits brighter when we put our all into it. A shoulder to lean on is also a good way to lend a helping hand ("shoulder")!

We want to make a difference in this world, be remembered by others and leave a legacy of God;s love. Often we don't take much time but then want the rewards. Remember-your reward is with God in Heaven, not on this earth. God knows your heart and if you are thoughtful and kind, it comes from Him even if you have to work at it!

You have heard that saying-"It's the thought that counts" and "It's the giver, not the gift that matters most". I'm sure you can relate to that as well because it is the simple things that mean the most in life, not how impressive you can be.

Make an effort today to be in someone's "corner" for them, lend a hand, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a hug and a smile. Make their day brighter just by being YOU! Then you will realize the simple things that matter most-----are the charastics you have that are God-given. Your caring ways will be more accepted than a cold handshake.

Cheer, cheer and keep cheering!! Send that cheer to your neighbor, family or friends and extend that hand of friendship. Be the kind of person that is proud to care! Be you! Be a shining light and an example of God's love! Come on now--get off that bench and get moving, be that cheerleader everyone needs in life and you will feel great and reap a reward in the end.
