You know, God smiled on you when you were born
You should have seen the gleam in your father’s eyes
Your mother held you with such loving care
There was much joy while listening to your cries.

You came into this world like you were in charge
Everything about you was so demanding
You had family rushing to your every cry
You had needs and you were so commanding.

You cried whenever you were hungry
Your mom made sure that you were fed
Then you cried whenever you were tired
And everyone was happy to put you to bed.

But you would wake up at three in the morning
Demanding for something sweet to eat
Your cries could heard for many miles
There was no way anyone was going to sleep.

Your father prayed to make sure you were a blessing
God told him to keep you that you’ll turn out okay
Be thankful you have a God who loves you
And a family who loves you the same way.

Enjoy this day and take one year at a time
And let God shine a light in your way
Thank the Lord because you are a blessing
I wish you well and a happy birthday.
