I gave to you a garden
Filled with love divine
I gave to you blue skies
And a sun to shed some light
I gave to you rivers and streams
Filled with fish and beautiful things

I gave to you green grass
And meadows filled with beautiful grain
I gave to you a land filled with milk and honey
It was all your gain

All you had to do was love me with a true heart
And know that I’m your God
I gave to you a world of beauty
And all things good
And then you still did not feel loved
You kept on sinning as you would

I loved you beyond words
And you did not feel the same
I knew what would happen
When the enemy played his game
I gave you all the help I could
I supplied all your needs
I even came down and talked with you
Even walking with you in the cool of the eve

I gave to you a set of laws
Commandments for living
And my love I just kept on giving
But yet
You disobeyed my laws, you just
Kept on sinning without cause

I wanted to turn my back on you
And not look upon your sin
But my love for you remained true
I needed to make your world brand new

Then I gave you a way out of sin and shame
And all those things that bring pain
My son Jesus was born to live and die
He came to conquer death and sin
So you could rise again!

Up from a world of dust
Out of the grave with a shout
Mortality took on immortality
God’s spirit conquered flesh
I gave to you eternal love
And a place of complete rest!
