It rained until Sunday evening. When Judith got home, her parents weren't the least bit upset. They completely understood that it had been unsafe for Judith to travel in the storm. They were very glad that she was all right. They were also very pleased to hear that she and Paul had fallen in love and that she got along so well with Paul's family. They couldn't wait to meet him. Judith and her parents agreed to go to the church that the Connors family went to the following week so that Judith's parents could meet Paul and his family.

Samuel and Mallory's plane would get in late at night, so they decided to call a cab to bring them home. That way Paul and Dina wouldn't have to be out so late at night when they had school the next day. Paul and Dina had waited up for them. They wanted to make sure their parents got home safely. They were also anxious to tell them about the wonderful weekend they'd had with Judith and how Paul and Judith had fallen in love. Because the electricity was back on, Paul and Dina decided to watch some TV. Dina was thrilled when she found out that E.T. had been on television all weekend and was still being shown on Sunday night. She and Paul made some fresh popcorn and hot chocolate before they sat on the couch to watch the movie. By the time the movie was halfway over, Paul and Dina were so exhausted that they fell asleep on the couch.

Just when the movie had ended, Samuel and Mallory arrived home. It was eleven o'clock. When they got in the door, they were surprised to find their children asleep on the couch in the living room. They hadn't expected them to stay up so late on a school night. They went over and shook their children's shoulders. When Paul and Dina woke up, Samuel asked them why they had stayed up so late on a school night.
