"There was a storm all weekend, and we were worried about you," Paul said as he yawned and stretched. "We wanted to make sure you guys didn't have any problems getting home. We didn't have electricity all weekend until tonight."

"Wow," Mallory said. "I'd had a feeling a major storm was on its way before we left. I hope no one ever went outside in that weather!"

"We didn't, Mom," Dina assured her. "Judith was with us all weekend. It was a lot of fun. I was scared of the storm, but Paul really helped me feel better. We read the part of the Bible in which Jesus calmed the storm, and we sang worship songs. Paul and Judith told each other that they love each other, and Paul and I finally got to watch TV tonight!"

Samuel and Mallory raised their eyebrows. "Paul, you fell in love with Judith?" Samuel asked. "That's wonderful! She is such a sweet girl."

Paul smiled. "She sure is, Dad. She's the best." He looked up at the ceiling for a minute. When his gaze went back to his parents, he said, "You know, it's really something. Not too long ago I was so depressed about Bridget that I thought I could never be happy again. This weekend with Judith has been the best weekend of my life." He looked down at Dina. "Come here, little sis," he said. Dina went to her brother, and he picked her up. He gave her a big hug. "I thank God for a little sister who prayed for me when I didn't think I had a reason to go on living. I have never been any happier than I was this weekend. When Dina was afraid of the storm, I reminded her that rainbows come out after storms. I also reminded her that rain makes beautiful new things grow." He paused for a minute. "Saying that to Dina about the weather made me think of my own life.  Storms really hit hard right after Bridget and I broke up. I didn't think anything would ever get better. Judith is the rainbow that came out for me after those storms. The relationship that she and I now have is the beautiful new thing that's growing."

Tears of happiness came to Samuel and Mallory's eyes as they listened to their son say all of this. They embraced their children and told them how happy they were that they were all right. They also said that they were very happy about Paul and Judith. Because Samuel and Mallory got in so late at night, Paul decided to do the honors of carrying Dina, who had nodded off again, to bed and tucking her in. Samuel and Mallory kissed their children goodnight. Everyone was asleep within half an hour.
