A Single Eye

It’s so easy to be distracted
As we walk down this road called life.
So many things call for attention,
And we get caught up in the strife.

So many things, and dear loved ones too,
Seek out our affection and time.
We face the fight of priorities,
Often struggling to walk the line.

But if our eye is single and pure,
Seeking Jesus above all else,
He will be our compass and Guide,
And fully free us from our self.

When our eyes are fixed upon Jesus,
He will lead us in paths of light.
When our eyes are not single and pure,
Our feet stumble, as in the night.

If our eye is singly focused,
We will surely see our God!
Not only in these moments of life,
But one day, in His great abode.

As our eyes are fixed upon Jesus,
Life’s problems and trials grow dim,
And we learn to walk by faith, not sight;
As we grow e’er closer to Him.
