The Words Of My Mouth

Let the words of my mouth, Oh Lord,
Be always most pleasing to You;
No matter what faces me today,
Or what You call me to go through.

Help me speak sweet words of kindness,
That encourage, build, and lift up.
Help my words to portray Your love,
And to help fill another’s cup.

Let my words reach out to touch them,
The ones who are cast down within.
Fill my lips with your words, Oh Lord;
With love, never quick to condemn.

Let my words be filled with mercy,
Yet willing to speak truth in love.
Let my words show others Jesus,
And point to the Father above.

Let my words show Your gentleness,
To the young and old; great, and small.
Put Your bridle on my tongue, Lord;
Don’t let me cause any to fall.

Help me, Lord, to be slow to speak,
And ever quick to bend my ear.
To Your soft voice, and sweet Spirit,
Let me e’er be ready to hear.

Let the words of my mouth, Oh Lord,
Show Your great patience, love, and grace;
Even when I walk through troubles,
Shine Your peace, as I seek Your face.

Let my words glorify Your name,
As I lift my voice to sing praise!
Let my lips e’er speak Your wonders,
As long as You grant me days.

Let my words be governed by You,
My Lord, God, and everlasting King;
That others may see Your beauty,
As Your sweetness, to them I bring.

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
