Daring To Believe

Sometimes I’m faced with trials and tests,
And I can’t see the way through;
I ask God’s help, again and again,
And plead His mercies anew.

If I focus on circumstances
And impossibilities,
Doubt presses in hard to push me down,
And makes it hard to believe.

But when I look upon my great God,
And through His word, behold Him,
I see that He is faithful and true,
No matter the test I’m in.

I see God’s great power, o’er and o’er,
For those who dared to believe.
I see His grace, mercy, and goodness,
And those who seek Him, receive.

I know I’m not worthy of God’s grace,
Or His forgiveness of sin.
I’m not worthy of His tender love,
Or His cleansing me within.

But God chose me, saved me, and loved me;
I’m adopted as His own;
And though unworthy, I know He cares,
And hears me from His great throne.

He’s my all powerful, good Father,
Who’s always faithful and true,
And I know that I can trust Him now,
Though I don’t know all He’ll do.

Yes, I choose to believe, and trust God,
And surrender all to Him!
His ways are so much higher than mine,
And my earthly sight is dim.

I dare to believe His promises,
Even when I cannot see,
For He loves, and cares, and hears my prayers,
And will do what’s best for me!
