Thirst

I Thirst for Him in a dry and weary land. He alone
can quench this thirst and fill the need I have, this
longing in my soul. Holy Spirit breathe on me. I
want to know You more than anything (Hosea 6:6).

Revelation 21: 1-7
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old
heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea
was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new
Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a
beautiful bride prepared for her husband. 3 I heard a
loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, the home of
God is now among his people! He will live with them,
and they will be his people. God himself will be with
them. F39 4 He will remove all of their sorrows, and
there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or
pain. For the old world and its evils are gone
forever." 5 And the one sitting on the throne said,
"Look, I am making all things new!" And then he said
to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is
trustworthy and true." 6 And he also said, "It is
finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega – the Beginning
and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give the
springs of the water of life without charge! 7 All who
are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I
will be their God, and they will be my children.

John 7:37-39
37 On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus
stood and shouted to the crowds, "If you are thirsty,
come to me! 38 If you believe in me, come and drink!
For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water
will flow out from within." F33 39 (When he said
"living water," he was speaking of the Spirit, who
would be given to everyone believing in him. But the
Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not
yet entered into his glory.)

Let the rivers flow and flood our souls until we are completely drenched. Let us spill that love and joy on all we encounter. We may be the only Jesus others see. Let them get a glimpse of His light and His deep, deep love.

The theme of being thirsty was running through my mind last night. I was reading Isaiah 55! If we only would realize that He is the only One who can satify that longing! My mentor, Keith Price, wrote an excellent book entitled "Thirsting for God". Keep writing! You are encouraging others!
