Like A Mustard Seed

Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.” Luke 13:18-19 NIV

A mustard seed is comparable to one who first becomes aware of the fact that there is a kingdom of God, and that it is something which is near. Now, what does the person do knowing this? Do they choose to ignore this and not pursue the kingdom any further? The one who earnestly pursues the kingdom will become aware of how the mustard seed has become a tree. This tree has branches which we, the birds, may reside within. We see all that the kingdom has to offer. We saw the door and knocked, and the door was opened unto us. The kingdom of God in our eyes is like the mustard seed but we come to find that it is really like a full grown tree, providing all that God offers within His kngdom to those who reside therein.
