#5 in “Blessing for Senior Saints” series.

“Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:  Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:  Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.” (Psalm 148:11-13 KJV).

How do others look at you?  How would they describe your disposition?  Cheerful or grumpy,  thankful or complaining, complimentary or critical of others? You are in control of the attitude you display!

Are you praising the Lord?  Some might say, “I have nothing to praise Him for.  It’s all bad!” But just the fact that you are alive is one giant blessing to be thankful for.

Are you concerned about your health? Did you know that Proverbs 17:22 proclaims, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine,” and Proverbs 15:13 declares, “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance.”  You might say, “I don’t feel merry.”  So? Change how you feel!  Philippians 4:8 instructs us, Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report, think on these things.”  Paul urges us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to bring “into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

Your positive attitude can have a gigantic impact on your health!  We sometimes spend a small fortune on medicines.  Why not spend a lot of time and no money building a positive attitude?  “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” It could improve your health and maybe save you a lot of money.

Start by praising the Lord for what you already have: salvation, the breath of life, food, clothing, a house, a car, Christian friends, and relatives who care.  Today is the time to start.  Praise the Lord!

Yes, a positive attitude can definitely help our help. We were created by God with the purpose to give Him praise. Thanks for the share.
