How Many Blows?

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.” Luke 12:47-48a NIV

The severity of punishment for misuse of leadership within Christian ministry depends upon the understanding of the leader as to what they are doing. The more that one knows what they are doing is wrong in the eyes of the Lord yet continue in their ways will be more severely dealt with than the one who is mistaken in the actions they take. Still, we must seek the Lord in carrying out His work that we may stay on the straight and narrow path. Be sure that in a ministering position you are doing as the Lord directs.
