The way Paul was whispering caused Dina to fall asleep. Paul started to get up so that he could carry his sister to bed, but Dina murmured, "I want to stay in your lap. I'm still scared. I don't want to sleep by myself tonight."
"No problem, sport," Paul whispered. "Good night, sis. I love you." He kissed Dina's cheek.
"Good night. I love you, too, Paul." Dina continued to snuggle in her brother's strong arms and went back to sleep.
"You're a terrific older brother," Judith whispered to Paul. "You really look after Dina."
"Thanks, Judith. Dina is the apple of my eye," Paul said softly. "She's my best friend."
Judith smiled and gently touched Dina's hair. "I wish I had a little sister," she admitted softly. "If I did, I'd want her to be as sweet as Dina."
