Paul turned and looked at Dina, who was crying as she remembered how her brother had planned to kill himself. Sobbing, Paul held out his arms to his little sister. "Oh, sweetheart, come here," he whispered. "Come here, Dina."
Dina went to her older brother. Paul hoisted Dina up and settled her on his hip. He cuddled his little sister close, kissed her forehead, and turned back to Samuel and Mallory. "Mom and Dad, thank you for my little sister. Jesus Christ used her in His plan to restore my will to live. She was great through all of this. She prayed the entire time that I would be happy again and that I would find a nice girl. When she found out what I was planning to do, she threw her arms around my neck and begged me to live." He kissed Dina's forehead again. "Tonight when we were picking up dinner, my will to live had already come back. While we were at The Starving Dragon, we ran into my classmate Judith Spencer. I learned that Judith has feelings for me, and I certainly find Judith attractive. She is sweet and a Christian. I would love to take her out on a date, but I know I have to get my grades up first. I'm also really sorry about my sullen attitude."
Samuel and Mallory forgave Paul. "Actually, we're the ones who should be sorry," Mallory said as she wiped tears from her face. "Your dad and I got so caught up in our jobs and our busyness that we haven't been spending enough time with you and Dina for a very long time. We hadn't been going to church with you. We hadn't been taking the time to listen to you. We really messed up. Can you guys forgive us?"
