Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” John 19:28 NIV

This is amazing. Jesus is just about ready to take His last breath. He knows that a prophecy which existed in Psalm 69:21, which dealt with the thirst of one scorned by enemies. That this prophecy would be fulfilled, Jesus said that He was thirsty. So much can go through one’s mind as death is nigh. Jesus wanted to make sure all was complete, including all the prophecies concerning Him.

Jesus knows all about you, and desires for your redemption and well-being. You have been led to the cross.
