“Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died."

After reading Esther chapter 2:7, the thought came to me that I can choose one of two realities:
Rejection or Protection!
This 'Rejection story' is one of the stories I’ve told myself that has been very destructive mentally, emotionally and damaging to the development of relationships. I am grateful for the leading of the Holy Spirit, in directing me to a study of Esther as I start this series of studying a selection of 'women in the Bible.'
My story is now being rewritten with the truth. God is rewriting the story with His Word, and He will get the glory out of this.
The abandonment was real. The feelings of rejection continue to be real, and I may struggle with that until I am home with my Lord and Saviour. I must acknowledge that! However, though I was abandoned, rejected, and neglected by my own parents, God also protected me from danger.
There are two sides to the coin of my story. Both are my reality, but I must choose where I reside.
Therefore, I have a choice to make: I can allow rejection to be the story I tell myself and the place I reside, OR I can choose to accept that, despite the abandonment/rejection, God protected me by providing my grandparents to take on the role of carers, like Mordecai did for Esther.
Today, I choose to see God as Jehovah Jireh. He is my Provider!
He provided everything I needed to get to where I am today. Despite my shortcomings (the deficiencies I am recognising) I trust Him to complete the work He began in me (Phil. 1:6-7). I believe with my whole heart that He will continue to send the right people into my life who will help to teach, correct, rebuke where necessary, and at the same time provide comfort through those who will be compassionate. He will bring those who are understanding of my pain (and the areas of struggle) into my life who will be able to point me in the right direction.
Help is on the way!
My life is in His hands, and though I had no parents to guide me, He has provided many who represent Him well to step into that role at one point or another on the journey to be that guiding light--that point of reference. Most of the time, they aren’t aware that I am being helped by the way they treat their families, particularly how they treat their wives, children, parents and siblings. God simply makes me aware of the things I need to be aware of, and then I can help or be helped by them.
I love being in the presence of God. I love resting in Him. When I decided to read through Esther, I just wanted to know how to be a better wife, but I am receiving so much in the first few chapters that I believe I will get out of it so much more than I anticipated.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” ~ Ephesians 3:20-21
