" For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you." Proverbs 23:7(NKJV)

Contents is a word that describes what is present in a container, bag, and so on. What makes content is many and varied. So the contents are what define how valuable the container will be. It also describes how the owner will be handled or treated. It can give the owner names, good or bad ones.

The source in the title of this piece refers to the heart of man. You can call it the workshop of human existence and attainment. This is because every word or action has its roots in the thought of the heart of each person. This shows that a man's quality of life, most of the time, is dictated by the standard of his heart. A man's heart is the workshop of his life. It is a place where thoughts work on ideas brought by inspiration and such like to dictate words that will proceed from his mouth or the action that he will take.

Let it be noted that a man's rewards from the Lord are based on the quality of his thoughts (of his heart), words, and deeds.

Note that it begins with the source of man's activities, the heart.

For instance, in the days of Noah before the flood, the Scripture describes the state of the hearts of mankind that called for destruction thus,
"Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Genesis 6:5

Beloved, do you pay special attention to the words, "every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."? In other words, it means "the contents of his source are poisonous endlessly." Should this be so? That was the reason for the destruction of every living thing in the days of Noah except Noah and six other members of his household.

Let me state clearly here that whoever fails to clear all negative contents of his heart runs the risk of bringing evil on himself and his household members.

This was the case with the widow of Zarephath. This woman has tasted and enjoyed the goodness of the Lord in the life of His Prophet, Elijah who was used of God to turn the "last meal" of the woman's family into an "inexhaustible meal" of not less than three persons, including the man of God. This did not change the negative contents of her source(heart) about the Prophet. She doubted the status of Elijah as a man of God and the truthfulness of the word of God in his mouth.

This attracted the death of her only son who was brought back to life by the prayer of Elijah. It was then that she confessed,
"Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is the truth.” 1 Kings 17:24(NKJV)

Beloved, what does the contents of your heart look like? Is it occasionally or continually evil or good? The choice is yours. If it is negative, please, change it to positive so that it will be of great benefit to you and your family members.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the LordNOTE:

NKJV is the New King James Version of the Holy Bible.
