"[23] Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," Colossians 3:23(NIV)

The above quoted Scripture speaks of working with the whole heart having it at the back of your heart that you are doing so to glorify God from Whom your reward will come without delay.

Do you know that every thought, word or act is unto the Lord? The Lord is interested in the content of the heart of every human being. Same goes for every word that proceeds from the mouth of a man or woman. He does not overlook the deeds of mankind. He will reward them at the right time and place righteously.

Father Joseph Jacob was aware of this truth and recognize the presence of the Lord wherever he went. He knew very well that nothing is hidden from His eyes.

When his master's wife cast eyes full of lust on her persistently, his shocking response was, "[9]...How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” Genesis 39.
King James Version of the Holy Bible calls it," this great wickedness, and sin against God."

He looked beyond mankind to present the matter before God Who has the exclusive right to judge everyone righteously. He knew that The Judge of the Universe was watching him. He knew well that the wicked will not go unpuniished, so, he ran away from it and the evil reward that could be attached to it.

The sweet Songwriter of Israel, King David put it this way, "Against thee, thee only have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight..." Psalm 51:4(in part) King James Version.
He wrote these words after he fell victim of what Joseph fled from. It was the same evil or wickedness of lying with another man's wife. Although he was a man after the heart of God, he did not go unpuniished.

In a conceived conspiracy between a couple Ananias and Sapphra in the early church, the content of their heart were executed and covered with lying. What was Apostle Peter's response? He declared, "[3]“Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?
[4]...You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” Acts 5. New International Version, NIV.
Please, pay attention to the personalities lied to: the Holy Spirit and God. Were the couple aware that lying would cost them their lives? They conspired to deceive people of God to appear righteous but the secret was uncovered by all-seeing and all-knowing God to the faithful Apostle Peter. They died a uniform death on the same day and in the same place.

Beloved of Christ, do you do all things as if unto the Lord? Whatever you think, say or do should be unto God in the lives of His people in particular and every human beings in general. Your due rewards will come from Him at the right time. The Lord assures in the book of Revelation 22:12 thus, “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." Revelation 22:12 (NIV)
Beloved, what will be your reward?
