Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. But some of them said, “By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.” Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. Luke 11:14-16 NIV

The crowd was amazed at what Jesus was doing. But others, namely the Jewish leavers would not believe in Him. They came up with the ludicrous comment that it was by the prince of demons that He was casting out demons. Could they not see how ridiculous their comment was? No, they could not, as their minds and hearts were totally blind to what the Lord was doing. He did not fit their mold of who Messiah would be. Some wanted a sign from heaven. Was not the work that Jesus did a sign from heaven? Certainly, it was, yet they would not believe.
