Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Luke 11:17-20 NIV

Here, Jesus quickly and meticulously dissects the thoughts of those who were against Him. He first states that no kingdom divided against itself can stand. How true this is. With opposition to a kingdom, it must be united in order to fight off its adversary. Next He asks them how their people could extricate demons from people and not be from the same source that Jesus was doing. After having destroyed their thinking, Jesus then states that if it is by God that He casts out demons, then therefore the kingdom of God had come down to earth. Now what do you have to say for yourselves, you misguided and close minded Jewish leaders?
