If you wake up breathing, congratulations -- God has things
waiting for you to do.

What are the qualifications for serving God? Breathing!! You
don't need any special qualifications to serve God, although if you
have some special skills, He may call you to some special task. I
get the feeling that some folks, young people especially, sort of
expect God to call them with some mysterious handwriting in
flourescent colors on a huge white cloud that stands still until you
see it. Then you fear the call will be for some task that you hate or
are not skilled at. Don't get so up-tight -- God's will for you will
usually follow common sense -- He'll use the skills you have.

Believe me, if God specifically calls you, you will be aware of it.
Remember that from the beginning of creation, very, very few have
had specific special calls. Unless you feel a strong irresistible call
for a specific purpose, your call is to be as obedient to God's
general Biblical requirements as you can at whatever you do, be it
as a bank teller, carpenter or soap maker. Don't get all stoked up
over whether you are doing what you think God called you to do. I
repeat -- if and when God singles you out for a special call, you'll
know about it. Rom. 11:29 (nlt), "For God's gifts and His call can
never be withdrawn." So, if He specifically calls, OBEY!

If you are breathing, you can serve God in 100's of ways. Even if
you are bed bound, you can have a valuable prayer ministry. Just
be willing to serve.
