What are you doing to move your business forward? This is a good question. Ask yourself, if you're an entrepreneur, if you're in business, or even if you're an employee, and you want to prosper the company where you work.
What are you doing to promote your employer's business? If you're a speaker, you should be speaking, and if you're not speaking, then you should be using speaking to promote your speaking.
Does that make sense?
Of course, you can use writing also, but if you're not a writer, then you're probably not going to do that.

NOTE: It's amazing the results you do not get from the marketing you do not do.
So if business is slow you have to stop and ask yourself what you're doing to move your business forward.
Every single day you should be doing something like networking, writing an article, giving a speech, getting in front of the people who can hire you, maybe sending a letter or postcard to somebody, gathering around people with whom you can connect. It doesn't really matter what kind of business you have.

I know a guy who's a carpet cleaner. He also did home inspections, and he is not the best speaker. He's a friend of mine. He doesn't mind me saying that. He kind of stutters once in a while when he talks, but he's honest, nice looking guy and a former Marine like myself.
And what he did is he actually went to monthly meetings, at least one or two monthly meetings to realtors, where they get together, maybe 30 realtors. He was able to get in front of these people and simply tell them what he did, that he did home inspections or he cleaned carpets, handed out his business card, and it just took off. You know, it amazes me how he still gets business to this very day through referrals and mostly from women, I'm sure, because they found him attractive and down to earth and honest, and that's how he used speaking to promote his business.
Any business can profit from this. It doesn't matter whether you're a loan officer, a realtor, a plumber, an auto mechanic. It really doesn't matter. You know, car salesman, a dentist, chiropractor, a lawyer, any business can profit from speaking and using speaking as a way to promote their particular business.

Go out and implement this idea today. Think more about your business and how you can be of greater service to those around you. Its always about them, not you, until we meet again. Have a great day.
