Here is a question to ask yourself today. Are you happy with who you are and with who you have become?

There are three variables to this answer.

Suppose you were a farmer and you're probably not, but if you were, there are three things you'd be concerned with. The seed you're planting, the soil you're planting it in, and yourself as the sower. If you look at the soil, it may be good, it may be bad. So you sow the seed, which may be good or bad. And you may be good or bad, meaning competent or incompetent as a farmer.

Depending on those three variables, you're going to either get a good harvest or a bad harvest wouldn't you agree?

Well, you are a spiritual farmer, in a real sense, and you as a Christian have become who you are based on all your past decisions based upon all your past thinking activities and habits. All those things have made you who you are today.

You are either in Christ or you are out of Christ. You either know the Lord and love the Lord and are keeping His commandments or you are deceiving yourself. And you are where you are today because of what you've done in the past. If you are still an unbeliever, you have a bad record of your past decisions and past habits.

But you can change. Here's the good news.

It doesn't have to be that way anymore. You can change. Now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation, said the Apostle Paul.

Think about your circumstances but don't blame everything on your circumstances. All you have are the things that God has given to you.

Now, from the biblical perspective, we know that the seed is good because the seed represents the Word of God. So don't blame the seed.

The Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword we are told. The Word of God is profitable for correction and instruction in righteousness. So don't blame the Word of God. Don't blame the seed.

Now maybe the soil is bad. That soil represents the human heart-your heart, in this case, and the seed that was sown, the parable, the sower, and the seed that fell on different types of ground. So did it fall on hard soil, hard ground, with rocks?

Was it sown with thorns and thistles that came up and choked out the Word so that you made a profession of faith for a short time but then you fell away because of the cares of the world and the riches? Yeah, the love of the world got a hold of you. You didn't count the cost. You didn't persevere. You didn't have true faith.

So there’s the seed, the soil, and of course, the sower, who is God himself, that sows the seed. God is perfect and he sows the seed where he wills. The Word goes forth, and falls on different types of soil, which can be good or bad depending on what it is, and will you bring forth fruit unto righteousness? Or it will bring forth dead works; works of unrighteousness.

All right, so you can change by seeking the Lord and asking for true faith and repentance, repentance toward God and change in how you see yourself, a change in how you view sin, a change in how you view God, and his son Jesus Christ. You need the right perspective on these things and only God can give it to you. It's a gift. Faith is a gift. It's not a work, lest any man should boast.

Okay. Hope this helps. May the Lord bless you.
