2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (KJV)  Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

If I were to leave you with a word on today, it would simply be this: Be ye Reconciled unto God. Be ye Reconciled unto God.

Here in the scriptures,  we learn that Paul writes a letter to the Corinthian church to address some major problems within the body:

Those problems were division among believers,  sexual misconduct, confusion about food and worship, and controversy surrounding Jesus' resurrection.

Second Corinthians contribute to our understanding of ministry.

Amen, and in our understanding,  we learn that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself and has given to us a ministry of reconciliation.

We also learn that true ministry in Christ's name involves both suffering and victory.

Serving Christ means ministering in His name to every need of the people and that leaders in ministry need support and trust from those to whom they minister.
(Holman KJV study Bible P. 1935)

To be reconciled means to be restored. As believers in Jesus Christ, it means that our relationship with God the Father has been reconciled or restored through the bloodshed of Jesus Christ.

The greatest message that you can ever hear is the gospel of Jesus Christ, the message of repentance. The purpose of the gospel is not to show you how to earn seven figures  or how to achieve happiness in an unhappy world.

The purpose of the gospel is to call you to repentance for the remission of sins and receive Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, who died for your sins and was raised the third day for your justification and salvation.

The world is filled with motivational speakers. But a motivational speaker and a preacher are  not the same. A motivational speaker is good for business and developing a professional mindset. But what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul.

A preacher is a man or woman of God who is charged to preach against sin and lead a life of righteousness in the name of the Lord Jesus. A preacher's job is to tell you about heaven and also to tell you about hell.

A preacher's responsibility is to tell you that the wages of sin are still death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

So be ye reconciled unto God.

Your wealth, your position in life, doesn't reconcile you to God. You must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.

Messages like this are not received well because people love their sin more than they love God. But our sin has separated us from a Holy God. Amen, and when you separate yourself from God, you reconcile yourself to the devil. The Lord is not willing that man perish but receive everlasting life through Jesus Christ.

People would rather be entertained than listen to a preacher deliver them a message that challenges the heart and lifestyle of a man.

Rarely will you find a man who will tell you the problems that we're facing in the world today, is because of sin.

Sin is the root cause of divorce, black on black crime, white on white crime, abortion, stds, politics, it's all sin.

And until we deal with the sin, we're going to continue to have these problems around the world.

A politician's job is to sell you a bill of goods, then take away the goods, and leave you with a bill.

All politicians, and I mean all, are liars. They're reminiscent of the used car salesman who sells you a nice-looking car, but it's really a lemon.

Your faith must be in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone. He's the only one who can save you and the only one who can deliver you.

And so in closing, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (KJV) says And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

The Lord desires to reconcile his creation back to himself. We were bought with a price, and the price that was paid is the blood of Jesus Christ.

Through the grace and mercies of God, the Lord has given the human family time.

God has given us time to live recklessly and  common sense to recognize the folly of living such a way. Most of us lived the majority of our lives in sin.

Now, it's time to live for God. It's time to live for Jesus.

We gave the devil his glory in the world, so now it's time to give God his glory in Christ.

Be ye reconciled unto God. Amen.
