You know, there’s one thing worse than being blind. You know what it is? It's seeing things that aren’t there.
Yeah.
It’s seeing things that aren’t there.
We’re all guilty of it, of course. Have you heard somebody tell you, on a cloudy day, they'll tell you, “look up at the sky. You see that pussycat?
Yeah.

Do you see that cat in the clouds?
“What do you mean, cat in the clouds?”
“Look over there. Can't you see the tail over there and the ear and the nose?”
Well, some people have wild imaginations.
They see things that aren't there.
Oh. but it looks real.
Yes, well, we have an imagination and we know what a cat looks like, and we can kind of picture a cat up in the clouds, but it's not really a cat.
What I’m trying to say is we all have experiences in life and they mean something to us as individuals, but they don't always mean things to other people.
Other people do not see what we see, so we have to help them. And we help them by being authentic.

By being real.
Having integrity.
We do it by communicating the truth. As the apostle Paul said, we have to do it by speaking the truth in love.
That's the essence of good communication. To speak the truth in love; to really care about other people and to help them grow into the likeness of Christ.

And how do we do that?
Well, by encouraging them. By being there as a supporter, as somebody that prays for them and encourages them to get into the word and meditate on scripture.

We pray that the Holy Spirit would teach them. As the Word says in Jn 2:27, ”you need not that any man teach you…,” when you have the Holy Spirit, because he's your teacher.
Be willing to learn and “speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.” (Titus 2:1)
I like what Timothy said, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Oh yes, study.
Do you think this Christian Life is easy?
We're commanded to study, each and every one of us who profess to be a believer, a follower of Jesus Christ.
We must study.
What is it that we are to study? Study to show yourself approved unto God.
It doesn't say approved unto man, but approved unto God. A workman or a work woman, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Do you think this Christian Life is easy?
We're commanded to study, each and every one of us who profess to be a believer, a follower of Jesus Christ.
We must study.
What is it that we are to study? Study to show yourself approved unto God.
It doesn't say approved unto man, but approved unto God. A workman or a work woman, rightly dividing the word of truth.
That is the holy scriptures.
Maybe that's why there's so much confusion in most churches today. People gather together in church buildings, the wheat and the tares gathered together. Some are true believers, converts on their way to heaven, and some only think they‘re going to heaven.
They’re deceived.
They’re not truly converted yet. But there is hope - if they're willing to keep their minds open and search the scriptures for truth, they can be converted.
Hopefully, before they die.
However, there's no guarantee, because if we turn aside from the truth then we turn aside from the only means of our salvation.

Well, we have to look to Jesus, don't we? Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
He is our mediator, He is our advocate. He's the only way to the Father.
“The way is straight and narrow and there be few that find it.” But there are many today that want to make the way broad, and many are on that broad road to destruction. I can tell you that.

You don't want to be on that way. You want to be on the straight and narrow way that leads to eternal life.
